Every day, Fiskehuset has fresh fish from the sea, freshly smoked fish from our own smokehouse, organic fish, "THY-Herring", the "THY-Sausage", and other delicious homemade specialities together with a lot of local specialities. For example meat (lamb, etc.), cold meats, shrimp, Cavi-art, cheese, vegetables, berries, fruits, jams, chutneys, various oils, flour, honey, and lots more. Very much is organic.
Brand new casual restaurant from summer 2013 with a great view of the harbour and Limfjord with fish dishes (and a little meat). Everything is homemade, and our famous "stjerneskud" is obviously made from fresh hand-carved plaice (pan fried in organic butter and steamed in white wine. TASTE TAKES PRIORITY
Fiskehuset is situated in a wonderful harbour environment at the old market town of Thisted, and owner Michael Lyhne Mathiesen take a pride in always having fresh North Sea fish in the counter.
The shop slogan ”from sea to stomach” tells the story of a business with a distinct attitude. They believe in always delivering fresh quality products, and to treating their customers with respect and offering them the best of service.
In summer months the guests can enjoy various fish dishes seated at tables outside the shop overlooking the harbour and the fjord. In winter the enterprising couple enjoys developing new home-made products based on fresh fish and organic ingredients. Lisbeth and Per Toft Jensen only sell products that they enjoy themselves, and their ambition is to have the customers eat fish because they like it.
